I’m Maryam Aziz, an illustrator and designer based in Los Angeles.

I previously worked as a full-time designer for Neiman Marcus and Brighton Collectibles, where I developed a strong foundation in brand-driven design and visual storytelling.

Today, I work independently, creating narrative and editorial illustrations for D Magazine, Mahj Magazine, Trust for Public Land, restaurants, and other clients. My work blends refined line work with thoughtful composition and symbolic detail, and every piece is intentionally built from the ground up.

I see an illustration of the way an actor sees performance. Each project is a new role, a new story to step into. I shape the visuals to reflect that story through drawing technique, color palette, texture, and medium, allowing each project to carry its own distinct feeling and presence.

 

I do not believe talent is defined by one fixed style. My work evolves with the narrative, and every commission becomes its own world.
