I'm Maryam Aziz, an illustrator and designer based in Los Angeles. I previously worked as a full-time designer for Neiman Marcus and Brighton Collectibles, where I developed a strong foundation in brand-driven design and visual storytelling.
Today, I work independently, creating narrative and editorial illustrations for D Magazine, MAHJ Magazine, Trust for Public Land, restaurants, and other clients. My work blends refined line work with thoughtful composition and symbolic detail, and every piece is intentionally built from the ground up.
I approach illustration the way an actor approaches a role. Every project is a new story to step into. I shape each visual through drawing, color, texture, and composition so it reflects the characters, emotions, and world behind the narrative.
I believe every story deserves its own visual language. Rather than relying on a single signature style, I create illustrations that are shaped by the narrative, the audience, and the experience each project is meant to deliver.
