Childhood Reimagined
I wanted this piece to feel intimate and slightly surreal, like a memory that is both soft and heavy at the same time. The pastel glow and hazy edges create a dreamlike atmosphere, while the small television becomes this quiet, powerful portal. In the mirror, Giovannie appears as the actress she would become, confident and luminous, reflecting the version of herself she was reaching toward. The younger figure sits grounded and vulnerable, holding a stake, caught between fear and imagination. The composition contrasts isolation with empowerment, showing how something as simple as a TV show could become protection, escape, and ultimately, transformation.
